Ugh so hard! lol but this one because it was after they broke up and maybe if Brooke had known he said this she'd stop being so stubborn and they'd get back together =(

This^ I think it would've made a world of difference.

Brooke and Lucas were together during the other quote so even though it would have been cute to have Brooke overhear him saying that... he did a great job later in the episode of explaining his feelings to her during the "rescue me" scene.

But this scene would have "made a world of difference" (as jackiehyde4eva perfectly stated). She would have seen that Lucas DID fight for her, he wasn't giving up, he was holding onto the hope that they would be together again, and he wanted Peyton's help in getting Brooke back (he was not even remotely interested in getting Peyton back). Brooke never knew how Lucas felt after their break up... she didn't see or hear him trying to win her back. All she saw was him spending time with Peyton, saying he's not the guy for her, and him saying they can still be friends. She didn't hear what he said when she wasn't around which was that he was still in love with her and needs her back. Sometimes it feels like the only reason BL ended and never got back together was all because of miscommunications. Urgh!

ITA with everything thats been said, her knowing lucas's intent at the beginning of season 4 would have changed everything.

I think it would've changed her mind, gain a little faith in them. :)
