“How are Ты holding up?” Bonnie carefully tried to make a conversation. Elena rewarded her with a furious don’t ask stupid Вопросы look. “You know, I’ve been trying to communicate with the spirits. Maybe I can persuade them to help you”
“No, thank you. I think you’ve done enough already” Elena replied cold.
Bonnie looked down and thought about leaving for a second, but then lectured. No еще running, no еще hiding. It was time to own up to her mistakes.
“Elena” Bonnie started, looking up again. “There’s something I’ve wanted to tell Ты ever since I was released from the tomb” She paused to take a deep breath. “I’m sorry…I’m not sure why I waited this long to say it. I think I was trying to give Ты space, wait until you’re ready”
Elena raised her eyebrows. “You think I’m ready now? Ты think I want to hear your pathetic apologies now?” she snapped.
“There’s not much time left. If I don’t say it now, I’ll never get the chance” Bonnie explained.
“Oh, so this isn’t about me. It’s about you, getting a clear conscience before it’s too late” Elena snarled. She coughed and when she looked at her hands she noticed blood.
“Oh my God” Bonnie сказал(-а) breathless and she looked feral at the blood. “You…you want me to get a doctor?”
Elena coughed some more, but shook her head. She lied down on the подушка and closed her eyes. Bonnie believed that was her cue to leave, but when Elena heard the постель, кровати creak, she muttered: “Wait”
Bonnie sat down again and Elena slowly opened her eyes.
“Am I selfish for not wanting to become a vampire?” she shot her question. She knew Bonnie was going to give her an honest answer. She owed her that.
“What I think is irrelevant” Bonnie сказал(-а) after a while. “But if Ты want to hear my opinion, I’d say that you’ve done everything Ты could to be with Damon. Too much to give it all up now” She stood and left the room, leaving Elena to think about that.

The Далее morning.
A buzzing sound, coming from Caroline’s pedestal cupboard woke her up and she opened her eyes. She took her phone and opened it. She had received a message from an unknown person.
“I know what Ты are and we will destroy you” she read aloud. She swung her legs off the постель, кровати and searched for her ring. When she had found it she put it on and walked to the window. She shoved the curtain and stared outside.
The sky was grey. It seemed like it was going to rain.
Caroline opened the window and climbed over the edge.
“Game on, bitch” she mumbled, before she jumped and landed gracefully on the pavers.

“Where’s Barbie?” Katherine asked when Stefan was standing on the front porch of the Boarding House. She had gotten used to the sight of him with Rebekah.
“She’s out, doing something” Stefan explained vague. “Can I come in?”
Katherine shrugged and let him pass. Stefan turned around. “I’m looking for Elena. Is she here?”
“No, she’s at school. Ты should know that” Katherine сказал(-а) uninterested.
“Not anymore she isn’t” Stefan said. “School’s over”
“Then she’s probably at the Grill” Katherine said, a little annoyed. “What do Ты need her for anyway?”
“I want to apologize for what happened last time she came over” Stefan said. “And I want to make sure she’s okay. I mean, I know Rebekah’s blood already left her system by now, but still, it must have freaked her out”
He looked at Katherine who stared at some point behind Stefan. Stefan quickly turned around and saw Damon standing in the doorway.
