Why did they ban them though? I mean, those specifically? There are all sorts of videos on youtube promoting equally ignorant ideas.

if i think about those postcards my great-grandfather sent from auschwitz..and the stories my grandparents and my father tell...im all for freedom of speech but this not a debate.these are just plain facts.

By the way, I agree with the banning of these videos. I agree with free speech, but the fact is, to try and deny the Holocaust in light of the overwhelming evidence that proves the Holocaust happened is pointless. It demeans the memories of those who died in these horrific places.

germany, my family is polish, and i too hear the awful stories and i do think what some of these people are suggesting is disgusting but they still have the right to express themselves

i see what you mean debs..but its not "expressing themselves" its lying. and there is too much proof! if it were less obvious id agree with you but in this case: i think its dangerous to suggest that "it didnt happen".

but they are questioning things, i know it's a very extreme phrase but if no one questioned anything the world but be a lot worse off than it is

i would just like to emphasize exactly how against their view i am but i still can't help but feel that they should be allowed to have their free speech as situations snowball, one day your not allowed to post videos, years down the line it against the law to question it and all such sites are banned, further down the line it's against the law to look in to any conspiracy theories

of course its always difficult to decide what should be allowed and whats forbidden- but why would youtube have to support these ideas!? im not even saying people who support the ideas should be arrested (david irving was) but I wouldnt host their vids on my site either. and i would fight anyone who spreads those theories. youtube has a right to say " not here" ( and yeah i do get the irony of youtube being all picky all of a sudden ;))

if youtube were to ban all videos of such nature that yeah, i would be okay with that but youtube is not owned by one single person expressing their views saying i don't like that, it's a very open site and so to just ban one view is not right

Sure theres freedom of speech.. but what if the searches you get for "Holocaust" on the internet mostly say its untrue because of videos on popular sites such as youtube? Is it really okay for kids to doubt it ever happened?

I would think the reporting of inaccurate information meant to convince people its true where anyone can see it is a cause for concern. Far more troubling than if your right to spew out absolute hate-filled nonsense is protected.

The point is nothing is ever black and white. "Freedom of Speech" is not always a good thing when it comes to the nastier side of humanity

what about it being interesting for other to view? call me weird or offensive or whatever but the first thing i did when i heard about this was go check it out, see what people were saying in the videos, why should i not be allowed to view them, doesn't mean i agree with it because i want to watch it, doesn't mean i will believe it
