Эй, there, it’s Loren the пингвин here, and I would like to tell Ты a story. The Story of my life. And how I got here to tell Ты this story. Would Ты like to hear it? Ok then, here we go.
It all started years назад in Antarctica. A place where temperatures can reach 18 degrees below zero. A place where there’s no mercy. Something I learned from experience. My parents and I lived in a village. There wasn’t much to eat there, and the living conditions were poor. Not many hatchlings made it to adulthood. I was one of the lucky ones. And to make matters worse humans began to dump oil in our villages water. So it was barley drinkable. And things didn’t get better once the wealthier пингвин villages began to declare war for any of our last supplies of money. Whenever they came, they not only took money from us, they also killed any of our villages hatchlings that they found with или without protection. I hatched at this time. My father named Hector Hillburn and my mother named Marianne Hillburn risked everything to save me. I was two years old and Marianne had just found out that she was pregnant with another egg, and one day, in an attack, they killed Hector. He had managed to make it to our Главная and tell my mother to leave, and to run away with me to a safer place before he died. So she did. She traveled all день and night for 12 days straight with me until she reached the nearest village farthest away from our old one. The people who greeted us saw that Marianne was exhausted from walking for days without stopping for Еда или water. So a woman grabbed me and two men helped my mother. They brought us to a small кабина so we could rest for a while. Then after my mother had gotten most of her strength back she told them why we came to their village and they understood. It turns out that they had been attacked too once in a while. But they had a stronger defense against them. So it was safer here. My mother got a new Главная for us to live in. She had the egg one месяц after my birthday, and I thought that it was the best late gift that I could have ever gotten, a little brother. She also put me in a school. It had been 4 years since my father had died, and life was better. I had acquired some new friend’s but my best friend in that village was a пингвин called Emily. Whenever I was sad, upset, или angry she could always find a way for me to laugh. She was creative and fun, but the best thing about her was that she could stand up for herself when she had to. My life was great at that point. Until one день the village that I learned was called ‘The Blades’ attacked us out of nowhere. At that time I was only 6 years old. My mother hid me and my brother who was still an egg in the attic and told me “Loren, Ты have to hide in here until Ты hear nothing at ALL outside или until I come and tell Ты to come out and me ONLY. Got it? Don’t worry everything’s going to be fine, I promise.” сказал(-а) Marianne as she smiled and shut the door. I was still worried. But I was old enough to obey and I stayed in that room. I did hear something, though it wasn’t clear this is what I heard или at least what I think I heard “Where are they?!?” yelled what seemed to sound like a man. “I don’t have children!” screamed Marianne as she looked down at the sharp нож that was being held to her neck. And then I heard her scream. Then after a few hours it was quiet again, so I came out. But when I reached the kitchen, mother was on the floor with a puddle of blood around her. I ran to her and began to cry. “Mom, you…you promised!” I сказал(-а) as I knelt down besides her. She then put her flipper around my shoulders and spoke. “Loren, *cough* Ты have to get your brother and get out of here, they WILL come back soon, leave, Ты have to.*cough* If they find you, they’ll kill Ты and your brother. “But mom!” I cried out. “But nothing! *cough*you and your brother can make it. Your aunt lives in the Hoboken zoo, I didn’t want to send Ты there but *cough*, you’ll have to go there *cough* it’s the only place you’ll be completely safe.”Said Marianne slowly “I…I can’t just leave Ты here mommy!” I сказал(-а) as I continued crying. “Loren, please *cough* Ты have to. Please forgive me for leaving Ты so soon, but Ты have to survive или this sacrifice that I have done will mean NOTHING, *cough* so please go.” сказал(-а) Marianne. “Mommy!”I screamed. Then she told me those few words that I will never forget. “Just remember Loren, *cough* I will always Любовь you, and please don’t tell anyone but your aunt where you’re from. *cough* I promise you, you’ll NEVER be alone.” сказал(-а) Marianne as she slowly closed her yellow eyes and took her last breath. “Mommy, mommy, MOMMY!” I yelled as I cuddled up to her lifeless body crying. I couldn’t believe that the one person that I have ever trusted and the one I have loved the most, had just…died right in front of me. I stayed there for a few минуты before I realized that I HAD to leave at that moment. So I сказал(-а) my final goodbye to my mother and I took off with my brother, a small bag full of food, and drinkable water. I saw Emily and she was the only survivor along with me that hadn’t ran away или gotten killed, so we ran away together. We ran for miles and miles trying to get away. We stopped at the nearest train station. We stayed in that train for at least 28 days before getting off and walking along the road. Emily began to joke around trying to make me laugh by walking slowly in the middle of the road and pretending to get hit. “Cut it out Emily that’s not funny.” I сказал(-а) sternly. But she never saw that truck coming…
