Hilary came very close in 2008, so maybe in can happen again in 2016. Also, Michelle Bachman was the frontrunner for a half-a-minute earlier this year. (Although imagine what SHE would do for women's right *shudders*)

I meant because of its economy. There's speculation that things are going to get much worse relatively soon. But, I don't know, maybe that's just the kind of pessimism that always gets thrown around.

@ Dragonclaws oh no, hell, the economy's getting better. And who can we thank for that? The guy that's totally getting re-elected this year.
And as for female presidents, I bet that either by 2016 or 2020, most definitely.

I have hopes that it will eventually happen.

I'm not American but I think that there would be someday. Maybe in the next re-election.
