To me magic is much more then that.

It is for me, but there is more to magic. I enjoy all types of magic, each book has it's own way of portraying it. And I do like Rowling's portrayal.

To me, magic isn't a physical thing that you can force to happen.

I mean its more than just chanting words and waving a stick... Theres a lot more to it.

Well, the magic in Harrry Potter isn't only that. I thought someone even says something about it not just being waving wands a shouting phrases (not only Latin, but combinations of words originated in different languages, by the way, and one of them is indeed Latin) in the first book.

ok the magic which I think is really cool , if you know movies like star wars and lord of the rings you'll get what I mean
the stick and phrases are really classical and very easy to think of , I love magic that use hands and focusing , it's much harder ( even though , I think there's no such thing called magic :) but it's cooler to see on TV especially at the fighting parts
but for Harry potter world , well they used more than just spells , they used magical substances , magical plants in harry potter 1 & 2 , and other stuff I can't think of right now , oh yes the necklace they used in harry potter four to go to the past
