Chapter 9: Problems...

“Becca open up” Hugh сказал(-а) knocking on the teenager's door ten минуты later.
The loud Музыка was still coming from her room and Hugh got no response.
“Rebecca Greene Laurie!” Hugh shouted using his daughter's full name to make sure she knew he was angry with her behavior.
She finally opened the door and turning the Музыка down, sat on her wooden bed.
“What's going on with Ты and Lisa?” Hugh asked her the moment he closed the door behind him.
“Nothing...” Becca brushed off and took her cell phone, then started to text her friends.
“Rebecca... You're not going to Jared's overnight... Period” Hugh сказал(-а) still not earning any attention from Becca, или maybe, he did earn it, but she was avoiding him big time.\
“Of course I'm not going... This has nothing to do with him...” Becca сказал(-а) bitterly, with a hint of sincerity in her voice, earning a glare from Hugh.
“Rebecca... What's going on? ” Hugh asked her, sitting on the bed, opposite of her.
The girl continued on texting her friends. After a минута of Hugh staring at her, she spoke small “Why does it matter?”
Hugh could swear he saw a tear form in her eyes.
What in bloody hell was going on?
Becca loved Lisa, well, Hugh always thought that anyway. They always got along with each other.
Why was Becca Актёрское искусство so strange all of sudden?
Did she think Hugh moved on a bit too soon?
“Becca, what's wrong? Did Ты really mean what Ты сказал(-а) to Lisa?” he asked softly, putting his hand over her cell so he could earn her full attention.
Rebecca exhaled and looked at him, her eyes filled with a certain amount of fear.
She got off the постель, кровати somewhat impulsively, shaking her head.
“The problem is dad, I did NOT mean it...” she said, her eyes now full with tears.
“Wha-at?” Hugh was in shock, this he did not understand. He could understand Becca thinking he moved on too soon, he could understand her referring to Lisa as 'not her mum' to a certain level, but this. This, telling Lisa she wasn't her mum and then crying over the fact that she didn't mean it. That he couldn't understand.
“Dad... Don't Ты get it?” she paused, her cheeks now all stained from tears “She is somewhat of a mum to me. I do like her!”she paced around the room nervously.
Hugh shook his head. Ok. So, she did like Lisa. And she did think of her as her mum.
So, why was that something to cry over?
“I don't understand... Why did Ты tell her she wasn't your mum then?” Hugh frowned.
“Because!!!” Rebecca shook her hands as a sign of despair. “Because... I'm afraid... I got too attached...” she paused, sobbing a little “I don't want to get attached just to watch her leave you, leave... us, me”
Hugh finally realized what was going on. She was afraid of losing Lisa. Just like she Остаться в живых Jo.
Hugh got up from the постель, кровати and embraced his daughter in a hug.
“Oh, honey...” he whispered to her, patting her back. “Is this because of mum, and the way, she, left?” Hugh asked swallowing hard. After almost two years, it was still hard to talk about his wife.
“Dad... I don't want to miss Lisa as well... I don't want her to leave...” Becca sniffed.
Hugh looked at her in the eyes, they were puffy from crying. He brushed the tears off her cheeks and smiled softly.
“Lisa is not going anywhere...” Hugh nodded at her.
“How do Ты mean?” The teenager shook her head, not realizing what her father was saying.
“I was planning on making her stay forever” Hugh grinned, not realizing what an impact his words had on his daughter.
“Dad... are Ты saying...?” Becca raised an eyebrow... Hugh couldn't help but smile at how cute she was.
“You want to help me choose a ring?” he asked grinning, his words making both of them excited.
Becca jumped a bit, Hugh couldn't believe how excited she was.
“And a BIG one!!!” the girl screamed with delight.
