End of Chapter 38

"Get in the car, we will take Ты to get help." The other girl сказал(-а) as she held her hand out to help me in the seat.

"No, no please don't take me to a hospital. Do Ты have a cell phone I could use, I have to call someone." I pleaded.

"Honey, Ты must have hit your head. Ты really should let someone take a look at you." The first girl сказал(-а) as she climbed back into the car.

"No, I'll be alright. Please, let me call my...family, they will come get me and make sure I am alright. My father is a doctor." I said, hoping that they would believe me.

"Here." The guy сказал(-а) as he reached back, offering me his cell as he pulled back on the highway.

I dialed Edward's number, hoping that he would answer. The phone rang twice, and I was about to hang up because he always answerer's quickly...when the phone stopped ringing, the other end silent. I knew he was there, somehow...and I had to tell him something before I was found.

"Edward." My voice shaking as I prayed he was there. "I only have a few минуты before they find me. I am in Colorado, hurry." I сказал(-а) as the phone died in my hand, I looked up and saw all three of them watching me carefully.

Chapter 40

"Edward?" The girl sitting Далее to me asked.

"My boyfriend, he's been looking for me. I was taken from my house against my will, I know that his entire family is out looking for me. I just want to go home." I сказал(-а) as I started to cry.

"Shhhhhh shhhhhhh, we'll help you. We just met ourselves, my name is Sara and this is Jen..and Kyle is the driver." Sara сказал(-а) as she moved closer and smiled. "Jen and I were leaving our town to start new in Denver, and Kyle was nice enough to stop and pick us up."

"He's really quiet." Jen сказал(-а) from the front сиденье, место, сиденья as she turned around to look at us. "He's really nice though."

"Nice to meet Ты all, if Ты could just drop me off at a hotel или something I could call someone to get me home. That would be best I think"

"I think we could do that." Kyle сказал(-а) as he turned a bit to smile at me. "We should get something to eat first, I'm sure Ты are all as hungry as I am."

"Yeah." Jen сказал(-а) as she ran a hand over her shirt. "I could use a hot meal."

"Me too." Sara chimed in.

"Bella?" Kyle asked.

"Um, sure...but I don't have any money." I сказал(-а) softly.

"Don't worry I've got it covered." Kyle сказал(-а) as he turned back and smiled at me.

We kept driving for a while, I saw a sign that сказал(-а) Denver was just over an час away and was excited to get there so that I could call Edward, или Charlie and have them come get me или get me a plane ticket out of here. We got withing a half час out of town when Kyle pulled off the highway, slowing down as he turned onto a side road that had a strip mall along the road.

We pulled into a IHOP, all of us piling out of the car as the smell of coffee, блины and other baked goods filled the air....the scent was pure heaven. We walked in and were seated in a small booth in the back of the restaurant. Kyle sat Далее to Sara, which left me and Jen to sit Далее to each other. We talked about where we were from and what we all enjoyed doing, and I couldn't help but notice that Kyle was not sharing any information.

"Kyle?" I asked after the waitress took our orders, noticing that he didn't order anything.

"Yes?" He сказал(-а) as he looked at his hands.

"I thought Ты were hungry."

"I Остаться в живых my appetite." He сказал(-а) as he fidgeted.

"I hate when that happens." Jen сказал(-а) as she went into a great story about her life and loss of appetite.

I sat watching Kyle, noticing that he was getting еще and еще uncomfortable as we sat there. I was about to ask him what was going on when the waitress brought our food, all three of us girls diving into our food.

About 20 минуты later, all three of us were stuffed and I was realizing that I was tired again. I yawned as the waitress brought our bill to the table, smiling as she walked away. Jen and Sara broke out their wallets, pulling out cash to pay their half of the bill. I looked at Kyle who was reaching into his pocket to pull out his wallet, grumbling as he threw a pair of contacts on the table.

I was about to ask him why he kept them in his pocket when he looked up at me, his eyes changing from a brown color to blood red. I gasped, realizing what this meant instantly. I went to stand up when a hand shot across the table, pulling me back.

"Bella, don't run. They are almost here." He сказал(-а) as he watched me.

"Who? What's going on?" Jen asked.

"Don't worry about it, this has nothing to do with you." Kyle сказал(-а) softly.

"Do not hurt them." I сказал(-а) as I glared at him. "I will cooperate if Ты just let these two go."

"I can not do that that." He сказал(-а) as he put an arm around Sara's shoulder, pulling her closer to him.

"NO." I сказал(-а) as I stood up, looking down at him. "They will not be hurt. I will cause a scene Kyle, believe that."

"Bella, sit down please. People are staring."

"I don't care, Ты are going to let us all go now. We will take your car, Ты can wait for the rest of your...'friends'." I сказал(-а) as I stood up, pulling Jen out with me as I reached out and offered Sara my hand. "Come with us Sara, Ты don't want to stay with him...believe me."

Sara looked from him to me and back before slowly standing up. I looked at Kyle to make sure that he was going to stay where he was, I didn't want to have to cause a scene in here but we had to be going if we had any chance.
