End of Chapter 3
"Well, even though Ты hate it...I wish Ты the happiest of birthdays Bella." I сказал(-а) as I reached вперед and hugged her awkwardly.
"Thanks Jake, see ya later." She сказал(-а) as she patted my back.
"Thanks Charlie." I сказал(-а) as I went and began pushing my father to the door.
"No problem, thanks for coming." He сказал(-а) as he held the door for me.
I got my father all situated in the car and before I knew it we were half way home. The night was so dark, the sky clouded over so that the stars were blocked. I squinted as I drove, my eyes searching the sides of the road for deer или other wild life. I jumped a little when I heard my father make a small 'oh' noise.
"What did Ты see?" I asked as I applied pressure to the brakes.
"Just a friend." He сказал(-а) as he grinned.
I was about to say something about him loosing his mind when I saw them...two eyes, no two sets of eyes that seemed to be watching us drive by.
Chapter 4
"A friend?" I asked as I looked at him out of the corner of my eye.
"Yeah."
"Someone I know?" I asked.
"No. Did Ты give Bella her gift?" He asked as he turned and smiled.
"Nah, she went on about how she hated when people buy her things. She hated birthdays..so I decided not to give it to her."
"Chicken!" My father laughed then began clucking like a chicken.
"Whatever."
"I heard someone else's voice in the кухня with Ты and Bella for a while...who stopped in? Charlie didn't seem happy about whoever it was." My father asked as we pulled into the driveway.
"Yeah...Bella's boyfriend stopped in." I сказал(-а) as I climbed out, getting his chair set up before I helped him out of the car and into his chair.
"Bella is dating someone?" He asked, fully aware of the answer.
"Yeah, she's dating Edward Cullen."
I heard my father my father say something, but I couldn't tell what he сказал(-а) или that language it was in...all I know is that it wasn't in English. When I got him in the house and could see his face I instantly knew that he was angry или disappointed in Bella.
"She dates who she wants to Dad."
"Not him." He growled, his face turning cold.
"Here we go again." I muttered under my breath.
"Know this Jacob, Isabella WILL be hurt by him. I hope not badly." And with that he wheeled himself into his room for the night.
I sat on the couch, flipping through the channels while I should be sleeping. I knew I had class in the morning, but my mind with racing with thoughts of Bella being hurt and what I would do to Cullen if he hurt her. Or, about the eyes in the wood and what they should be, not to mention the weird way my father reacted when he saw them.
I must have fallen asleep at some point, because Далее thing I knew my father was shaking my shoulder, yelling at me for sleeping on the диван, мягкий уголок again. I grumbled at him as I made my way to the bathroom to get ready for school..sigh.
The день passed like every other, nothing new. Quil and Embry quizzed me about Bella and what I was going to do about the crush I had. I told them that there was nothing I could do at this point, she seemed to be happy with Edward Cullen..even if I wasn't.
The rest of the день was boring and uneventful as always. I went down to the берег with Quil and Embry, the three of us making fun of Sam and his Друзья who were jumping off the cliffs into the water. I had done it a few times...but the way that they were doing it just make them look like big dorks. They were all trying to out do each other, jumping as far out as they could then flipping and turning as they showed off. When we got bored with that we made our way back to my house, where I made hamburgers for everyone. We had just finished eating when the phone rang, my father watched me as I went to answer it.
"Hello?"
"Jacob, is your father there?" Charlie лебедь asked, and from the tone in his voice I knew something was wrong.
"Dad, it's Charlie." I сказал(-а) as I handed him the phone. My Dad made a bunch of uh huh's and oh no's before he told Charlie that he would be up as soon as possible.
"What's up?" I asked.
"We have to go to Forks, NOW" He сказал(-а) as he went and grabbed a куртка off the hooks by the door.
"Why?" I wondered as I grabbed my куртка and the keys.
"Bella's missing." He сказал(-а) as he wheeled to the door.
I was instantly moving, grabbing my куртка and beating my father to the car. I helped him in and was driving before I realized it, if Bella was missing then I would find her..or do what I could to help. I was sure of one thing though, that Edward Cullen must have something to do with this and that made me hate him more.
