i see what everyone is saying but i think it is in the sense that i personally don't feel lustful towards someone with out loving them first. i know there are people who have sex without feeling, so that's when sex and love don't mean the same thing. it depends on what situation i guess.
Love, tender feelings, and sexual satisfaction entail parasympathetic arousal. Its a relaxation response which generates a general state of calm and contentment. The same pleasure centres light up in your brain when you experince love and sexual satisfaction.
I'm in a long distance relationship for a few months and people are always asking about this and 'omg isn't that hard?' But it isn't. When you've found the right one, he's the only one you want to sleep with.
They are absolutely NOT necessarily the same thing, but they most definately CAN be :)
I think women have a much harder time than men who can seperate lust & love more clearly. Anyone could have sex with a total stranger they just met & not even know their name, and just because you commit the 'act' giving a body isn't giving love always, it may be give or take-like in the case of rape, that is sex & not love! Love can also be present without sex, romantically & other types :)
