DEFINITELY! I love Black Widow! I didn't like her at first because we didn't get to see much of her character in Iron Man 2 or The Avengers. She just seemed like a typical badass action girl. But in Captain America 2: The Winter Solider and The Avengers 2: Age of Ultron, she really was VERY interesting and likable. She has a playful and witty sense of humor, admits that she only pretends to know everything, and we get a look at her backstory explaining why she is the way she is. Elsa is a poorly written character that gets WAY TOO MUCH praise! Fyeahcontroversialcharacters won't even let people submit Elsa because she's well liked by "everyone" and all that crap. He probably needs to look over the internet more.

Dunno, Widow seems to me the textbook example of a "Strong Female Character", with little to no flaws (and barely shows any emotion), which might be why she's pretty low on my list. She's a huge Mary Sue in the first movies, and when they try to give her flaws, the fandom bitches out massively.

She's probably one of the most super heroes and I keep seeing people on tumblr talking about how great she is. I see Elsa everywhere, but she also gets a lot of criticism

I don't really use overrated much; Frozen and Bloom are the exceptions.

Black Widow is simply badass and well written. She deserves all the attention. To be really honest as a female in the superhero world, more attention to Widow wouldn't hurt.

Overrated IRL on merchandise (and with guys) and definitely online where she's hailed as an empowered icon for women.

Elsa is pretty overrated in the Disney fandom but it's true, she has been getting a lot of criticism on places like this and tumblr. I also feel she has a little more personality/weaknesses than Natasha so her being popular is a bit more deserved. I'm really glad they gave Natasha some depth but I still agree with SU, she's pretty basic for a superheroine, especially in the first Avengers where she's most praised (it REALLY ticks me off that when finally Whedon gave her some depth people bashed him for it).

^Exactly, that's my problem with her and her fans. She's not really that well written (just your basic Sue with a gun), and once the movies TRY to give her flaws, the fandom moans about it. It's like they just want her to be their perfect little Mary Sue for them to fantasize over.

There are better super heroines than Widow out there (Wanda for starters).

I would hardly say being "simply badass" is a reason for Black Widow to get all the attention. I agree with scarletunicorn about the movies trying to give her flaws, yet the fandom moans about it. I haven't read the comics, but from what I've heard about her, she doesn't sound likable at all.
And at least Elsa isn't bordering on Mary Sue territory. Black Widow comes damn close to being one.
