It's Complicated Chapter Sixty Three
Lila's POV
I was tired. I didn't want to do anything once I finished with my shower. The complete silence I heard made me want to sleep. It was easier to go to sleep now. Well, sometimes; other times it scared me that I couldn't hear anything. But right now, I wasn't scared. Everything I was scared of was locked away.
I crawled underneath my warm covers but it seemed to make me feel еще awake. Of course of all the times I want to nap, my body doesn't want to. So, I laid there. I was either going to go to sleep или I would lay here until I fell asleep out of boredom. It was going to happen one way или another.
I didn't feel like facing anyone.
I couldn't believe Troy had broken off the engagement. That came as a complete shocker to me. I would have never guessed it. Although, I would have never guess Ella calling Jake and telling him everything. Then Jake coming and finding me. I had to make my thoughts stop. I didn't want to think any further then there. It would be bad if I replayed everything. It would come back and haunt me. I didn't want that at all. I am pretty determined to forget all of this.
I stopped thinking about everything that has happened and just closed my eyes. It didn't take long to drift to sleep.
I woke up to someone shaking me. My eyelids flew open and someone was standing in the dark shaking me.
"Get away from me," I yelled as I slapped the person away.
They backed away once I hit them. I somehow managed to make it to the other side of my bed. I crawled underneath and saw my lights flicker on. I stayed there breathing heavy and crying. Had Jacob came back already? или was it someone else from the gang? I saw someone come around to the side of the bed. I crawled to the other side of the bed. I saw them get on their knees. I was ready to let a scream out as soon as I saw that face. Emmett's face appeared and I felt relief. He reached for my hand and pulled me out. Everyone was in my room. I saw Edward and he had a bloody lip.
"Edward! I am so sorry," I signed, "I really am!! I'm so sorry! I didn't mean too!"
"It's fine, Lila! It's not the first one," he signed laughing.
"I'm sorry," I signed again.
"Edward deserves it since he woke Ты up in the dark. Who wakes up a deaf person in the dark," Jasper signed laughing.
"Well, I know better now," Edward signed.
"I thought Ты were Jacob," I signed, "I didn't mean to hit you!"
"It's alright," Edward signed.
"Are Ты okay," Esme asked me.
"I'm fine," I signed, "sorry about that!"
"It's okay; I thought Ты were dreaming when I heard Ты scream," Carlisle signed.
"Yeah me too," Jasper signed.
"No, thankfully not," I signed.
"I'm going to go check dinner," Esme signed and walked away.
I sat down on my bed. Edward had already left to go clean his bloody lip up. Emmett and Carlisle left talking to each other. Jasper came and hopped on the bed.
"You can hit good for being asleep," Jasper signed laughing.
"I feel so bad. But I'm glad a I can. That might be a bad thing though," I signed.
"Don't! He will be okay," he signed.
"Okay," I signed.
"You think Ты will be okay to go back to school tomorrow," he asked worried.
"Yeah, I guess so," I signed, "I'll just put some makeup on these bruises!"
"Oh, I didn't think about that. Are Ты sure Ты will be okay," Jasper signed.
"Yeah; I don't think they will bother me too bad," I signed.
"Just to let Ты know that my Друзья are here," he signed.
"Why," I asked confused.
"Because we were suppose to go to the beach," Jasper signed.
"Oh no! Y'all can still go," I signed.
"Nah, I think we will throw the football around in the backyard," he signed.
"Okay," I signed, "I'm gonna put on something other than my pajamas and come downstairs."
"Okay," he signed and left.
I got up and went to the bathroom. I was curious about the bruising on my neck. How bad would it be? Will it turn darker by the time I go to school? What will people think? Will they care; are they going to stare at me? They were noticeable and it's only been a few hours. What would they look like days to come? Will makeup be enough to completely cover them? или will I just have the Храбрая сердцем the attention?
Once I looked decent, I went downstairs.
It was still warm outside so I had on summer clothes. The bruising was noticeable alright. I hadn't even noticed the bruising on my wrist that had showed up.
"Do Ты want some ice for your eye," Esme asked as I came into the kitchen.
"No, I am fine for right now," I signed.
I headed out the back door to go see what the boys were up to. I got half way down the stairs and turned around. I couldn't do it.
"Are they not out there," Esme asked as I came in.
"I don't know," I signed, "I'm too scared to go down there!"
"Why," she asked worried.
"Look at me, it's only been a few hours and I look like a walking bruise," I signed.
"Oh honey, it's not that bad," Esme сказал(-а) trying to comfort me.
"I think I'm going to go put on a фуфайка, толстовки или something," I signed.
"Hey Lila," Scotty signed as he came through the door.
"Hey," I signed back and darted for the stairs.
I wasn't even going to look back. I knew they were all staring and talking about me.
I threw on the biggest фуфайка, толстовки I could find and went back down stairs.
"Are Ты cold," Emmett asked laughing.
I stuck my tongue out and kept walking to the kitchen. I was actually getting hungry. But anytime Esme cooked it smelled so good. It usually tasted great too!
I saw down at the bar in the kitchen. The boys were already eating chip before ужин which Esme was trying to get them to stop.
"What are Ты cooking," I asked.
Esme didn't answer she was too busy stirring and taking things out of the духовой шкаф, печь to sign to me. The down side to being Deaf. When you're hands are full Ты cannot really talk. It really didn't matter cause it was done and we could finally eat after an eventful day. It was nice to sit down with my family and possibly talk about the день we are having.
