The romance of Anakin and Amidala is badly directed and the actors don't seem to be in love at all! Now, with Han and Leia the attraction is obvious.

Han and Leia were a sub-plot, Anakin and Padme's relationship had a lot more time to develop and we got to see more of it. I do love both pairings, but if Anakin and Padme had never gotten together, Leia wouldn't even exist.

I have to say Anakin and Padme'. Both stories were badily writen and directed. But I see the chemistry with Anakin and Padme'. Although I yell at the terrible flirting. I have to 100% dissiagree with Sylarfan, I see much more with Anakin and Padme'. Han and Leai had next to nothing. Both were written bad, George Lucas isn't the best writer. Maybe that's why I wasn't into Star Wars till' the TV series came out. Now see that romance, and you'll pry go 'Aww' just as I have.

I'm not a Han fan, so I've never been crazy about Han/Leia, but Ani/Padme was doomed from the second Ani asked her if she was an angel. At least Han/Leia is a relationship that will last. Luke and the two droids will see to that. :D

anakin and padme cared way more about each other than han and leia! they had great chemistry and anakin did soo much for padme. thats is the whole reason that he went to the dark side. he wanted to save her. their relationship is totally sweet and adorable. i do love the whole good girl/bad boy, love/hate thing, but i love anakin and padme and their forbidden love way more. plus, im a huge hayden christensen fan!

Just what was the reason Anakin and Padme fell for each other? Was it because they were beautiful? They had some of the most awkward dialouge ever. And their interaction in Naboo is so stereotypical. I felt more for Han and Leia more then those 2.

I know that their dialogue was awkward, but Anakin and Padme didn't write the lines, so you cannot rationally dislike them for that. You can, however, dislike the writers for not writing the romance scene appropriately. If anyone was stereotypical, it was Han and Leia. She was trying to play hard to get, and Han was acting like a jerk to get attention from her. Ever heard the cliche saying "Boys are mean to girls because they like them?" Yeah, that EXTREMELY STEREOTYPICAL saying was invented by Han, NOT Anakin. Secondly, there were no boundaries stopping Han and Leia from falling in love...which is another reason why SOOO many people saw their romance coming way before it even blossomed. Ani and Padme, on the other hand, would've been exiled and disgraced if people had known that they fell in love. Plus, Ani was a little boy when he first met Padme, who was sixteen at the time. That's another reason why no one expected their love to blossom. It's because of their 5 yr age difference. There is an age difference between Han and Leia as well, but Han is the older one. In romantic relationships, the guy is usually the older one. Thus, there's yet ANOTHER reason why Ani and Padme are so much more unique compared to Han and Leia. Padme is the older one, not Anakin. All around, I truly do believe that Ani and Padme had MUCH MUCH MUUUUUUCCCCCCH more chemistry and beauty in their romance as contrasted with Han and Leia's relationship. Just the way Ani held Padme gave me chills, and the way they laughed and smiled together warmed my hopelessly romantic heart. Han never did anything romantic for Leia. In fact, he forced his first kiss on her. I don't care if she took his bait...it was utterly disrespectful to throw himself upon her like that without even giving a slow warning sign that he was about to kiss her. With Ani and Padme's first kiss, Anakin leaned in slowly so that Padme was fully aware that he was about to kiss her before their lips met. That's what a true gentleman would do. So yes, it is glaringly evident that I adore Ani and Padme much more than Han and Leia. And no, Ani and Padme are definitely NOT the stereotyped ones.

I loved Anakin and Padme... when I was 8.
Now it's clear that they had no chemistry, the movie surrounding them was a catastrophe and they were terribly directed and acted.

I like both couples and they each have their moments which I loved. I love it how Han and Leia were arguing in the beginning but soon became a couple. I love it when Leia said "I love You" to Han and then he replied with "I know" and Leia did the same thing to him in the final movie (Return of the Jedi) and my top Anakin and Padme moment:

ANAKIN: "You are so...beautiful."
PADME: "Only because I'm so in love."
ANAKIN: "No. It's because I'm so in love with you."
PADME: "So love has blinded you."
ANAKIN: "No, not exactly."

-Not sure if I got that dialogue right but you should know what I'm talking about.
