When Young Dracula was revamped for season 3, they tried to turn a children's Показать into a Показать for teenagers...did they succeed?

Seasons 1-2 (2006-2008) were made as a kids Показать nd when the series was revamped in 2011, Vlad was a teenager. This allowed them to explore darker themes and elements.

I don't think that they did. It seemed like they created a darker show...for children. They wanted to create a dark teen show, but they didn't commit.

When I think of a dark Показать aimed at teenagers, I think of TEEN WOLF. It's creator's desire was to make a thriller with comedic overtones but in a tone еще similar to that of the 1987 vampire film The Остаться в живых Boys. It IS a Показать for teens, but it has a surprising amount of violence and horrific images, like a dead body that has been torn in half, scenes of people being burned alive, as well as multiple fight scenes that result in deaths или grievous wounds and hallucinations of torture.

Series 3-5 take place in a high School. Josh Whedon's central premise of BtVS was: "High school as a horror movie".

I wish that they had developed YD into a darker, sexier and edgier version with a greater emphasis on horror and violence, romance and dark humor, and vampire and werewolf mythology.
