I thought it was really selfish of Bella too use Jacob so she could see hear Edward's voice in the second book

Bella is never greatful, jacob and her dad help her alot, and she blows them off for the cullens every time.

Whenever someone helps Bella,she takes it for granted.She just expects it.

I just kinda think Bella doesn't really care much about anyone but herself and the cullens and it's simply annoying.

I personally think that Harry is actually more grateful and modest. Bella is actually very selfish to use Jacob to stop the... er, the empty hole in her stomach and then just leaves him when Edward comes back. After New Moon, I was actually very much Team Jacob because if Bella stopped thinking about Edward and his perfection for 1 second, she would see just how being in a relationship with Jacob is healthier.

Harry is different. He appreciates all the people he has in his life, unlike Bella, who leaves all her friends, her dad and the wolf pack just for the Cullens. He doesn't start complaing when he gets gift. So Harry is definitely more modest, less selfish, appreciative, more grateful and generally has a better personality.

Harry knew for a long time that he was the chosen one, and therefore degrated people on their strengths and weaknesses, thinking they aren't good enough of doing stuff,
"She only likes you for being the chosen one."
"But I'am the chosen one"
Not a very modest quote, but he does have his good moments I suppose.

Bella is the most modest character I know. She never understood how Edward could love her, a pale girl with no skills and no beauty and fell at every type of simple obsticle. She always believed herself to be never special and basically a loser.
She was a normall and stupid human, but yet she was grateful of everything in the end.
Greatfulness is only relised at the peak of something, her friendship with Jacob, her pregnancy, her relationship with her Parents and just how grateful she was to be married and living happily ever after with Edward.

^That quote was meant to be humourous. It sorta showed Harry as, you know, a typical teenage boy. Anyway, it wasn't in the books.
Personally I don't think Bella is at all grateful, and used many people in her life for her own gains.
And Bella does say 'at least I'm pretty'. Not very modest after she is transformed.

Harry is very modest for someone who was became instantly famous as a baby.
Bella is modest because she really doesn't have anything to brag about.

Harry hated being in the spotlight, as shown in the Goblet of Fire; he didn't want to have to compete in the tournament but he was bound to. He hated all the attention and just wanted to be normal. He could have been conceited and stuck- up due to him being the "Chosen One", but he stayed true to his friends etc.

Bella is quite modest as well, but I think that this may be due to her self- esteem, she doesn't really think that she is very pretty, so she might not think that there isn't a lot to brag about.

@Cassie-1-2-3, just wondering what your reasons were for saying that Harry was far from modest.

Bella may not brag about anything, but you can somehow tell from the way she sounds that she really thinks too highly of herself...even if she's always whining about how plain and ordinary she is... :/
