Y do they call it Рождество In July?

Don't they say that when they're in some sad period of their life?

People don't want to wait 12 whole months for Christmas. So they spread the cheer 6 months early! It so fun to pretend!!! Today is Christmas! I'm going to wear red and green and sing Рождество songs and eat roast beef and put up the дерево and decorate!!!! Okay, a little too much...I just really looovvve Christmas!!! Merry Рождество in July everyone!! And a happy Labor day!!! ^u^

It's because the seasons are reversed for the Southern hemisphere. Right now in Australia is July but we're in the middle of the chilling winter. So, Рождество spirit is felt during this period because Рождество for most of the world is during winter. In another words during the real Рождество period in December we're in summer, so we don't really feel very Christmas-y. That's why it's called Рождество in July.
