What exactly is karma?

"Everything that happens to us is the result of something we did".
That's karma.
Basically, is the result of actions или decisions we did in the past even if we don't remember them или considered them irrelevant.
That's why people say 'Karma's a bitch', because those decisions или actions get back to us.

I believe that was the original meaning from the Eastern religions that believe in reincarnation. Now a days people use it as a slang for every день life. If Ты do something bad, something bad will happen to Ты in the future. (in this life) или a Популярное phrase puts it as, "What goes around, comes around." Hope that helps.

Karma-the sanskrit word for "action".

It means if Ты do something bad in the present time, something bad will happen to Ты in the future, but Ты don't know what it is yet.

Karma means balance. Peace and balance in the universe. Every little good thing Ты do... every evil thing, it comes back at you, it bounces somehow. Not really the same thing, I mean if Ты kill someone, it don't have to die, but you're going to live the rest of your crappy life in jail. On the other hand, a good deed will bring Ты happiness, everything is directly proportional with what Ты do.
