How do I know I'm emo?

Эмо is short for emotional, so if your emo, your depressed and sad, and really in an emotional distress. but lately it's because еще of a trend and a style

and goth is a style and a lifestyle.

Stereotypically, Эмо is еще personal; it's еще about your emotions and the way Ты feel. Goth is еще about who Ты are and your interests (which are darker than most others' interests.) I could go as far as to say it's almost like romanticizing dark subjects and seeing beauty in what other people think is creepy или scary. But that's just the way I see it.

"Emo" is a trend and Музыка style based around emotional feelings, both positive and negative contrary to Популярное belief, and a deeper outlook on every день life and events. It's possible to be "emo" without constant sadness или even an over emotional outlook on life, and it's possible to have an emotional outlook on life and not be emo.

To me, it sounds еще like you're going through a blue funk или somewhat depressed stage than "emo".

Goth, on the other hand, is еще of a lifestyle and a set of interests, and also contrary to Популярное belief, is not the same thing as emo.
Goth means different things to several different people. Generally, it is a Любовь for things of a dark nature, things that are twisted, mysterious, and melancholy, and the act of twisting that Любовь in to your life. It is a mix of what is both romantic and tragic, the dark and the dreary. Being a bit of a Goth-at-heart myself, I'm inclined to say that things of a Готика nature run much deeper than things of an Эмо origin.
I could go in to a lot of detail about what Goth is and isn't, but I don't really want to bore anyone.

I am not depressed, miserable yes, and bored, and pessimistic, and though I do not try to have any style in particular, just avoid colour because i don't like it and yet many people call me Эмо :( (it must be the hair, it is spiky on the back and I have hair all over my face :P) And I think it is stupid, because they have to label everyone according to trends and styles...You are Эмо if Ты want to be, I think I am not, so wearing only black, having 'emo hair' and looking like I am about to slit my wrists (a friend put it that way, a friend that knows how derpy I can be ) doesn't make me emo, (nor wearing a lot of eye-liner, I like eye-liner)...Since it has to do with emotions If Ты feel Эмо Ты don't have to follow the trend, and Ты can still be, while looking Эмо doesn't mean Ты are.
