Can I draw a comic on my laptop using just my мышь pad?

I'm giving some thought on drawing a comic или something, but I don't have a drawing tablet (I'm too broke to buy one, and I don't know any place nearby that sells one to begin with). I don't plan on using MS Paint on my laptop (so don't worry about that) but I do have GIMP and I can go to deviantart and use their muro. Do Ты guys think I'm able to with only the мышь pad?
