How do Ты respond when people tell Ты "It could be worse"?

Psh. I'm usually the 'worse' that the people are referring to.

"Don't complain. It could be worse. Wantadog could be online...."

I don't respond to it.

Whenever someone says that to me, I usually say 'Never say it could be worse. Cause it usually ends up way worse than it already is.'

I absolutely hate that.
If i'm venting to someone, and they say other people have it worse, it makes me feel like shit. It makes me feel guilty for reacting to bad situations and feeling basic emotions. The people in my family are very entitled to the pain (each thinking they've had the worst life ever) so I get this allot. Problems need to at least be acknowledged as something hurtful.

I can't remember anyone ever saying that to me. But when I've heard that saying, I definitely agree with it. No need to act like a little сука when someone says 'it could be worse' because it's true, the situation could be worse, so no use babying the person. Gotta face reality.

...Prove the person right by doing "something worse" to that person and tell him/her that yeah, it could be worse, and I could had done worse to Ты as well.

When someone tells me that "it could always be worse" when I'm venting about real issues and problems that aren't just my fault (kids, husband, taxes, job stress, etc) I can't help but say, "Well it also could be a LOT better too!"
