No, and I don't say this because I don't like her. I actually think Derpy is great. The best thing about her though is that Ты are always looking вперед to locating her in the background Актёрское искусство goofy. I think she would lose her charm if she was a main character.
I think I agree with Angrykittykj...not sure that I'd want her to become a "main character." It would be very cool to learn еще about her, hear her speak (more often?), maybe even have an episode или two based around her...but I don't know that making her a main character (either a seventh one, или on the level of, say, Spike) would be exactly the best idea.
She may attract еще attention and the people who have to be "that person" will try to sue the company или something... And also, Derpy has been known for a back round пони and originated as one. It would seem silly to have her as a one of the mane...
