Take that up with Disney. She may not be a princess in her movie, but Дисней has made her part of the official Дисней Princess line-up.

She's not royalty, but she's considered an official part of the Дисней Princess franchise. Likely they did that so there would be some ethnic diversity.

Дисней heroines with highly successful Фильмы are usually the ones to become princesses as far as I know, regardless of their actual status within their movies. Eilonwy, for instance, was a princess, but her movie was a flop, so she got left out...

Дисней actually has a rather strict perameters that a character must fall into in order to be considered a Дисней Princess, and there's a specific "rule" that was made basically just so they can call Мулан a Дисней Princess.
