Вопросы for any Аниме artists on here!

Do Ты usually draw using a picture reference или using descriptions или both? If Ты draw (or can draw) from description, do Ты just need basic details on looks, или lots of highly detailed details (like details on body physique, facial structure, personality to do eyes since in Аниме a charries eyes sort of reflects there personality)?
