Аниме that surprised Ты with "genre shift"
This also applies to the manga. Say the Аниме stops in the middle of the Манга & the Манга carries on the story. Also applies when the Аниме & the Манга are not alike.
Examples:
*Can't verify this, but I hear Negima starts as a harem comedy & changes into an action tournament series.
*Shadow звезда Narutaru: Holy s**t did that get dark.
*Black Butler: Starts as a horror series with some comedy & plenty of ecchi. The Манга is currently a total sausagefest with amped up Ho Yay. Mangaka also seems to be parodying stuff like Richard Brown's "Titanic with Zombies" & Harry Potter.
*Majin Tantei Nougami Neuro: Starts as a mystery comedy. After then Аниме ends, the Манга switches into action horror.
*Any CLAMP movie is an alternate universe version of the series; Rayearth & X1999 especially.
*Excel Saga Фаны wanting less ecchi & lots of Болталка comedy would have been deeply disappointed by the manga.
